Bangor, Maine, United States
We are seeking a pastor who shares our beliefs: That the Bible is the wholly inspired and inerrant Word of God and that Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God, conceived by God, born of the virgin Mary, crucified by Pontius Pilate and the Judean Leaders, buried in the Garden tomb and raised to life on the third day. That Jesus willingly sacrificed Himself to save up from our sins and to give us the eternal life He has promised to His disciples. That God sends is the Holy Spirit to help, guide, and teach us.
Our current ministries include:
Sunday School; Worship service at 10:30 am Sunday; A small, yet robust choir led by our talented pianist/ Choir Director; A men’s prayer group that meets 9am, Tuesdays; A women’s prayer group that meets at 10:30am Wednesdays.
We are a mission focused, supporting specific missionaries particular American Baptist Church mission offerings, and a few local non-profit groups whose ministries serve the homeless and the seriously ill. In fact, many church members are passionate about missions.
Our Church leadership encompasses the pastor, the deaconate overseeing the church worship and the church’s spiritual needs, and a board of directors overseeing finances and church facilities.
Our average Sunday attendance is between 30-35 older adults, with a passion for prayer. We are seeking a pastoral candidate who is comfortable ministering to the elderly, willing to visit those unable to come to church, as well as those who are sick. We are also seeking someone who help guide us in renewed evangelical outreach.
The compensational package is competitive within the American Baptist Churches of Maine.
