Praise Team Leader Job Description

Spiritual Maturity—Be in full agreement with and accept TCBC’s Doctrinal Statement and By-Laws before taking the position and live a Christian lifestyle consistent with our beliefs.
Interpersonal Skills—Have the ability to work in a team environment under the leadership of the Senior Pastor to unite a musical team for the praise and glory of God.
Musical Expertise—Have strong proficiency in vocals and a lead instrument (ex. piano or guitar) in order to lead the praise team musically in blended worship.
Administrative Skills—Plan and implement song sets for worship. Ensure that all music needed is ready and available for rehearsal and worship.
Time Commitment—It is anticipated that the duties associated with the position will take about 12-15 hours per week including a Wednesday night rehearsal and Sunday morning worship.
Prayer—Prayer is real work and is essential for effective Christian service and ministry. Pray for the members of the music ministry and for our church to express and experience genuine worship.
Responsibilities—Oversee all aspects of the music ministry and tech team.
Recruitment—Recruit servants ensuring that they meet all Requirements to serve in the music ministry of TCBC.
Must be committed to attending both Wednesday and Sunday rehearsals.
Must have adequate skill to play effectively as part of the band.
Preparation—Plan weekly worship sets and communicate them to the Pastor and praise team in a timely manner.
Having worship sets planned a month in advance is the ideal.
E-mail worship sets to the Pastor when they are completed.
Maintain an active list of all those involved through the Breeze Church Management software.
Organize and prepare music.
Rehearsal—Rehearse with the praise team on Wednesday night and Sunday morning.
Worship Service—Lead the music during the Sunday morning worship service.
Special Services—Plan and prepare music for special services, Easter, and Christmas.
Attend at least one conference for spiritual growth during each calendar year.
Regularly practice for musical excellence and study for spiritual growth.
Time Management—12-15 hours per week
1-2 Hours—Prayer and Devotional Time
2-4 Hours—Planning and song preparation
3-4 Hours—Rehearsal time
1-2 Hours—Personal development (Conferences, training, classes, etc.)
1-2 Hours—Special Events (Easter and Christmas, Funerals, mission trip, etc.)
1.5 Hour—Worship Service
Compensation—Dependent on experience and qualifications.
How to ApplyTri-County Baptist Church (TCBC) is seeking a God called man or woman to fill the position of interim praise team leader on a part-time basis (12-15 hours per week). TCBC is a Southern Baptist congregation that enjoys blended worship services consisting of contemporary, hymns, and southern gospel. We are seeking an individual who is gifted in leading the congregation in dynamic, spirit-filled worship. Strong proficiency in either piano or guitar is necessary to lead our team instrumentally.
