Extended Care Director, Group Supervisor, Asst Group Supervisor

Job Description

Mount Calvary Christian School has the immediate need for adult Extended Care workers. Applicants must have experience working with children and be available every weekday from 2:15-6 p.m.  We are searching for qualified individuals for the following positions.

  1. Extended Care Director ($15-20 per hour, depending on experience)–bachelor’s/associates required with State mandated levels of experience working with children.
  2. Group Supervisor ($12-15 per hour, depending on experience)–bachelor’s/associates required with State mandated levels of experience working with children
  3. Assistant Group Supervisor ($10-13 per hour, depending on experience)–high school diploma with State mandated general education requirements and experience

Salary is commensurate with experience and education. Candidate must be willing to pursue training and certification by the Department of Human Services. Extended Care Director

A director is responsible for the general management of the facility, including the following minimum duties: keeping accurate attendance records for billing purposes, , maintenance of the facility, administering the facility’s program objectives and activities; designating a staff person who is responsible for compliance in the Director’s absence; coordinating and planning daily activities with the group supervisor or with the assistant group supervisor in school-age program; overall program planning; written evaluation of staff persons on a regular basis, a minimum of one evaluation every 12 months.

Minimum Qualifications

  • The Director shall be a born again Christian in doctrinal agreement with Mount Calvary Church and Mount Calvary Christian School.
  • Possess solid qualities of Christian character and leadership.
  • Be able to maintain accurate records.
  • Capable of interpersonal supervision of adults.
  • A director shall have attained one of the following qualification levels:
  1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.
  2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.
  3. An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children.
  4. An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 4 years of experience with children.

Expected Role:

The employee must report for duty promptly; help with supervision; maintain and report to the school office accurate attendance records;  make sure the children are safe; foster proper relationships with children, parents, other aides as well as work in harmony with the school’s purpose, philosophy, and objectives; maintain an environment that is conducive to the children’s spiritual, physical, academic, social and emotional development; cooperate with the administration in seeking the program’s overall success; assure that  parents sign their children in and out properly; be familiar with students with food allergies, medical conditions, health alerts, and pickup restrictions; obtain adequate trainings; contribute to overall program development, and assist other staff as needed or directed.

Group Supervisor

  • Be able to maintain accurate records.
  • Capable of interpersonal supervision of adults.

Assistant Group Supervisor

An assistant group supervisor is responsible for the following minimum duties: assisting in the implementation of daily activities under the guidance of the group supervisor; Coordinating daily activities and supervising aides in the absence of the group supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A group supervisor shall be a born again Christian in doctrinal agreement with Mount Calvary Church and Mount Calvary Christian School.
  • Possess solid qualities of Christian character and leadership.
  • Be able to maintain accurate records.
  • Capable of interpersonal supervision of aides.

An assistant group supervisor shall have attained one of the following qualification levels:

  • A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
  • A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, including 600 or more hours of secondary training
  • A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.
  • A high school diploma or a general education development certificate and completion of an appropriate post-secondary training curriculum.
  • A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 2 years experience with children
